Publishers’ LETTER

Posted
Dear Readers,
We love every season in the River Towns, so picking a favorite is a bit like picking a favorite child. Fortunately, we don’t have to.
But if we did, it just might be fall (don’t tell summer, winter, and spring), when the hills and riverbanks turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold, giving us some of the most spectacular scenery of the year. And there’s an energy to fall that goes well beyond the leaves. Our towns fill with art shows, plays, concerts, and festivals, enjoyed by a grateful and connected community.
In Yardley, Shirley Lee Corsey gives an abandoned AME church new life as the Gather Place museum. In Frenchtown, we celebrate ten years of “creative mischief” at ArtYard.
We meet three gifted artists: Morgan Grabarz, the inventive fashion designer on our cover; Dot Bunn, a realist painter carrying forward a centuries-old tradition; and Denise Marshall, who creates art from her own photography.
In Lambertville, we look at the debate over how a historic city can evolve without losing what people treasure about it.
We also remember three giants who gave so much to the River Towns: our dear friend and philanthropist Marv Woodall; journalist, historian, and storyteller extraordinaire Rick Epstein; and legendary documentarian and painter Bill Jersey. They are missed, and we’re grateful for all they left behind.
We hope you enjoy this issue, and fall in the River Towns, in all its glory.
